The delegation of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin partook in the ordination ceremony of the new Pope of the Coptic Church


YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. By the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the delegation of the Armenian Catholicosate partook in the ordination ceremony of Tawadros II as the Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church at St. Mark's Cathedral in the heart of Cairo on November 18. The Primate of the Diocese of Tavush His Grace Archbishop Yeznik Petrosyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Egypt His Grace Bishop Ashot Mnatsakanian and the Head of the Inter Church Relations Department of the Armenian Church  His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukian have been involved in the delegation.

The Information System of the Mother See informed "Armenpress" that after the Holy Mass the members of the delegation had a meeting with Pope Tawadros II passing to the Head of the Coptic Church fraternal greetings and congratulation of the Catholicos of All Armenians. In the congratulatory message it is said: "By the will of God and the confidence of the Coptic believers Your Grace has been chosen as a successor of St. Mark in such a crucial period for the Coptic Christians to serve their spiritual needs. By the help of almighty God Your Grace will continue the work of Your predecessor of holy memory also by supporting the dialogue between the churches."
